All our temporary employees are thoroughly interviewed, reference checked and tested with our exclusive “reality-based” tests, which recreate what the applicant will actually be required to do on the job.

For example: All our legal secretarial applicants are required to retrieve computer files, make revisions of existing documents, rename files, perform straight transcription from tape, calendar court dates and work with fast track rules (for litigation jobs).

Our testing and interview process takes about three hours and lets us—and the applicant—best determine his/her skill level (something you can’t do with generic, standardized tests!)

We’re selective. We don’t hire everyone we test, but those who do meet our stringent requirements are rewarded with the special personal attention only a locally owned and operated service can provide.

We treat temp-to-hire placements more like direct hire than temporary positions, and spend time exploring the corporate environment, attitude and outlook and how a prospective temporary employee might fit into it over the long term.

If you do decide to hire a temporary staff member from Pro Tem, you’ll discover our contract buy-out charge is very competitive: We charge a flat $3,500 fee with 10% of all temporary time billed credited back to you.

We have computer-based English usage, speed typing and software tests, as well as our proprietary transcription and legal procedural tests, requiring hands-on, “real-life” tasks, such as calendaring, working with document templates, retrieving/revising/renaming existing documents, transcription from tape (including case citations and tables of content/authorities).

Or, if you wish, we can design a specialized test just for you, tailored to the special set of skills you seek.
